Love The Feast

Love After Love

The time will come
When, with elation
You will greet yourself arriving
At your own door, in your own mirror,
And each will smile at the other's welcome,

And say, sit here, Eat,
You will love again the stranger who was your self,
Give wine. Give bread. Give your heart,
To itself, the the stranger who has loved you

All you life, whom you ignored
For another, who knows you by heart,
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

The photographs, the desperate notes,
Peel your image from the mirror,
Sit.  Feast on your life.

Derek Walcott

Do you know and love the stranger who has loved you?  That stranger who was your self?  Are you ready to invite that self to feast on your life?

Until next week...

33 projects complete! 19 to go!

This week's project...a painted gnome for my garden, which is doing great!  I finished up eating radishes.  I waiting for peas and beets.   Tomatoes have blossoms as do the peppers.  And what in the world do I do with a HUGE parsley plant?   Maybe this gnome can help.

  1. Such an adorable gnome! I've seen them a lot in gardens especially around Europe.

And the poem is so lovely. Very often I tend to forget about myself and care more about those around me. Thanks for sharing (:
